OK, I will play along

1. navigate to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.

2. Then post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind the picture

3. tag 6 other people to do the same, and make sure you let them know about it

OK, confession time-yep again!!, I am so scared to remove any Pictures from my computer!! Even after I move them to my External Hard Drive!! I lost all of my pictures on my Big computer almost 2 years ago, and I still haven't recovered!

This is my 6th picture in my 6th folder-

DH and Hunter at Jessica's Graduation. It was a very warm, sunny day and daddy took Hunter under the bleachers to play in the shade. I love his baby thighs!!

I will tag:

All of my Followers------>, all 13 of you!! If you have already been tagged post a link so I can see yours. Sorry for taking the easy way out, but I usually tag someone that was tagged before.

Oh, and I tag Natalie too!! (I bet her photo will be of her adorable little Poochie Boys! LOL)

Card kits

Last August Hailey spent some time in Children's Hospital. I am very Thankful that is wasn't a very long stay. After talking to some of the nurses I learned that some children have been there for over a year- I can not even imagine. My heart goes out to those families!!

I am a part of an on-line Message Board that provides card kits to Children's Hospital. Care givers can take a moment to "get away" and create cards or scrapbook pages. It gives them a much need mental break.

Here are a couple of the card kits I have ready to send.

The top card is a total CASE- I saw it somewhere on the 'net. I wish I remembered where.

All the pieces have been cut, stamped and ready for a quick assembly. I have made 5 kits of each. I hope they enjoy them.

Wild for you

Snow, Snow, Ice, Snow. That has been our weather this week. I do not mind the Snow- but ice is a whole 'nother matter. We haven't even attempted to shovel the walk since Monday. The neighbor was trying to use his snow blower, but the ice was giving him fits, so he parked it in the garage. LOL Around 10 last night DH went out to help a neighbor push his truck out of is parking spot. When I peeked out there were a few other neighbors out pushing on the truck- they finally got it.

The new TAC Magalogue was delivered on Monday. I am so impressed!! I can not wait to place an order!!

Ok, enough about that- how about a card?

How about a Baby girl card? LOL, I don't even know anyone expecting a baby girl. I was just in the mood. LOL Oh, and I remembered to make TWO.

The zebra is from Wild for you. I can not wait to play some more with this stamp set- it is the newest addition to my collection. LOL The ribbon says, "It's a Girl". ( I would have made a blue card- but I need to buy some blue ribbon first. LOL How can I not have any good blue ribbon?)

Today's Blessings-

* Mom is doing GREAT!! Her next DR appointment is not until the end of February.

* A warm house.

* I don't have to drag my kiddos out to daycare on mornings like this.

*Having a friend join us for dinner tonight.

7 Years

7 years ago yesterday DH and I became Husband and wife. Wow, time flies!! I will be the first to admit that I love him more today than I did 7 years ago.

Here is the card I made for DH-

I thought that the sentiment (More Abundance) was perfect for this card. The corner were stamped with Curls and Swirls in Burnt Umber and Cognac. I added a little glitter and called it done.

Paper Pieced Bird

*** Sad to say, the new Magalogue did not make it's way to my mailbox on Saturday! Maybe today???**

After yesterday's post I am now convinced that I must be a Goofy Goober. LOL It seems no one else has any silly quirks. LOL

Today's card is paper pieced-

I used a pattern from the Embellishments: Beautifully Handmade class to make the body of this cute little birdie. The wing and tail were made with a FLOWER punch. The comb was made with a smaller flower punch. The swirly is from a Limited Edition set from Last year- the size was perfect for this card. The sentiment is a rub-on.

Since my goal is to create at least 2 cards from each design, here is #2-

(Not so crazy about the dew drops now. They seemed like a good idea! LOL)

Felt flowers

Do you remember I told you I was taking Tania's Embellishments:Beautifully Handmade on-line class? Well, last week we made fabric yo-yos and felt embellies. This is a card using 2 of my handmade felt flowers. I attached the centers with ribbon knots, and used scraps of ribbon for my stems. The Kraft paper gave my card a homespun feel, so to further embellish I added the tiny jute and distressed it with Burnt Umber ink. The "dear friend" stamp is from a Hostess stamp with The Angel Company.
I can honestly say I had never used felt before. There is something about it- it makes my teeth itch. I know, I am a Goofy Goober! LOL Well, know that I have made these cute flowers, I am planning on using felt more often. I will have to just get over the teeth thing!! LOL
Confession time- what silly quirks do you have?

I am proud to be an American!!

A new ERA in American history. Yesterday the world watched as our 44th President took the oath of office. As I watched the ceremony I could not have been more proud to be an American.
I know there are many serious issues that President Obama will face over the next four years, my prayer is he would seek God's Will in all things.
While I did not vote for him in the Presidential election, I will now support him with my Prayers.
God Bless the USA!!

Barn Yard Birthday.

One of my goals for the year is to not make so many one of a kind cards. LOL While I have my supplies out and I am making a card- it really does not take much effort to create a second one. Doing this gives me one to send now and one for later. Oh, and they do not have to be the exact same, I just use the same basic design. Here is both a vertical and horizontal version of the same design. Another tip- I only stamp the inside sentiment as I am ready to mail them, I am finding that the same card ideas can be used for multiple occasions.

Ok, so is this not one of the cutest little birdies you have ever seen? She is from the Barn Yard Birthday set from TAC. (This is one of the stamp sets from the Wonderful Winter Wishes Promo going on until February 2, 2009. You can either click on the link or scroll to the bottom of this page for more details.)

Prismacolor Pencils and OMS were used to color the birds while the hats were colored with Glaze Gelly Pens. I love using the pens- the colors are so vibrant and shiny AND 3-D. (Tip- the Glaze Gelly Pens come with a small round cover over the tips of the pens, don't throw it away. LOL It keeps your pens from drying out when you store them. LOL) I used the Tropical Mini Brads on both cards, I think they look very festive.

Handmade Embellishments

Here are a couple embellishments I made for my on-line class. I love the yo yo flowers. They are going to be perfect for Granny's album- in Homespun, of course. (When I get to it. LOL) Hailey changes clothes a zillion times a day, (last night she had on 2 pair of Jammie pants and 5 tops) she dug up a dress that looks like more of a shirt not and was parading around in it. That got me to thinking, I wonder if she would notice a circle cut out of the back of it...... You know, so I can make a yo yo flower with it. LOL
The felt flower has ribbon knots in the center. I thought I had some seed beads- but I guess not. LOL

BRAKs to share

Oh my. I am really not getting much done crafty wise lately. Today I am sharing some beautiful cards from my SBSisters.

First up is this lovely from Jessica. The cupcake is so yummy with all the sparkle!!

This Beautiful one is from Joana. I love all of the green!

Kelly created this cutie!! The photo does not do this one justice!!
Tania's embelly class is fabulous!! Yesterday we learned to create felt flower embellies. I did get one done, but the pic was crappy. LOL I will try to get a better shot of it. I need to find some time to work on layouts using my Embellishments: Beautifully Handmade.
Ok, whoever turn on the A/C and forgot to turn it off- please give yourself 40 lashes with a wet noodle. LOL It is ccccccccold here. Yep without windchill it is -13. YIKES!! Oh, and we finally got some snow on Wednesday- about 4". It is amazing that the weatherman is wrong 75% of the time, but still has a job. LOL

Ok, now run over to Tania's blog and see some sneak peeks of products being released at CHA.

Has anyone seen...

I know that it is here...... somewhere. Maybe it is under the pile of CARS cars in the middle of the living room floor. Nope! In the toaster beside the Homestyle waffles, turning a crisp golden brown? Nope!! Maybe it is the basket of freshly laundered and folded clothes waiting to be put away. Nope!! Where can it be?? I know it was here just a minute ago!!

Aww, I think I found it. In the basement. .........

Yep I found it. It was hiding in a stack of fabric that hadn't been touch in 4 years. (Today is the first day of Embellishments:Beautifully Handmade. Today we are making fabric YoYos.)

Welcome Home MOJO-I sure did miss you!!

A quickie

You know what this is? Yep, it's an external hard drive. DH got this for me for my birthday (today)!! I lost the hard drive on the big computer over a year ago- we really haven't tried to retrieve my pictures yet- but we need to. I hate losing pictures!! I have already moved all of my pics from my laptop to this little baby!!
Notice my new blinkie----> I am going to be taking my first on-line class!! Tania is teaching handmade embellies starting Jan 13. It is a five week course with 2 lessons each week. I have seen Tania's work IRL- beautiful!!
Have a great weekend!!

Well, I went to court yesterday. I was served on New Year's Eve. The sheriff showed up at my door early in the morning and said he had a letter for me. My first thought was the dog was in trouble. (You remember the Basset hound we got last Christmas? Well, we had to find her a new home in May because she had attacked our other dog. Lucy had to get several staples, and we decided it was best to find Belle a new home. She went to live with one of DH's friends and his family. Her tags were never changed, so twice we have been called that our dog was found. The last call came in December. We found out that she is now with her 3rd family, a couple of hours away and she had run away.)
SO, once I read the letter (and it did not mention the dog, LOL) I was totally confused. I was to testify on behalf of the State of Ohio against someone I did not know. After several phone calls I was told it involved a theft, one I was a witness to in October. I had been in my favorite Scrapbook store and a young lady came in and was looking at the Cricut cartridges. I knew she was going to take them, so I went to the front window so I could get the License number from her car. Sure enough she left with around $500 worth of cartridges. I filled out the Police report and had not heard anything until I was served the papers to come to court.
I needed to be there at 11:30 yesterday. I got to the court house, went through the metal detector, had my purse x-rayed and was told to have a seat and wait to be called in. In a short time the LSS's daughter comes in, she is testifying too as she was the one working that night. So we sit and wait, and wait, and wait..... I tell Ashley that I think they have forgotten about us. LOL By this time the whole hallway had cleared out, people working there where going to lunch, and others were leaving in their coats. Sure enough they had forgotten about us!!LOL Someone working there sees that we are the only ones left and asks if we are there for a case, I told her which one as she tells us that the Prosecutor had already left. Then she says that the thief had plead guilty in BOTH cases, and she would have to make restitution. YES!!! So, my day in court really wasn't and I am perfectly fine with that. LOL
I am just glad that she was caught and I was able to help out the LSS. I know it is hard for small businesses right now, and they sure don't need anyone stealing from them.
Sorry for being so talkative today, hopefully next time I will have something fun to share.

No Mojo here tonight

Tonight is supposed to be my card making night, so why am I blogging instead? Well it could be one of three reasons, or it could be all of them. LOL
Reason #1- I was in the Christmas project mode for so long, I think I have forgotten how to do anything else.
Reason #2- I am a little (ok, a LOT nervous) tonight. I have to be in court tomorrow morning at 11:30. The closest I have ever come to being in court is watching Judge Judy on TV- my mom is a HUGE fan. LOL I was served my papers on New Year's Eve. After making a couple of phone calls I found out I will be testifying for the State of Ohio. I had been a witness and filled out a Police report, the person was caught, so now I am going to testify. (I will give you more details after tomorrow.)
Reason #3- I have new stamps that are going to be delivered tomorrow. LOL

I did manage to get this one done. I used the Take Pride stamp set from TAC. The elephant was colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I colored an extra head and cut it out, it was then layer on the stamped image with pop dots. It looks nice IRL.

Photo tent

I asked DH for a Photo Tent for Christmas. With the kiddos being sick the week of Christmas we didn't get much done except caring for them and cleaning furniture and the carpet. LOL Well this weekend with the help of a handy 4 year old DH built the tent. I have not really had the time to play with it yet, but I must say I am lovin' it. I posted card samples here. The details really do "pop" when using the tent.

DH built mine so the inside dimensions are 14"x14", big enough for a 12"x12" scrapbook layout. For the bones he used some PVC pipe (the smaller stuff used for water lines.) I bought a white twin size flat sheet to cover the frame. You will see in the picture that I attached the back piece of fabric to the top/side pieces. The side pieces of fabric free hang- I like this because I can move the fabric aside to get my lights inside for shooting cards. When I photograph larger projects the sides will be moved into place, and the lights will shine through the fabric.

The sheet was cut to fit the frame- the piece for the back and bottom of the box is doubled (so you can not see through it) and then only attached at the very top to the frame. This way there is no seam showing in that piece. The top and sides are covered with a single layer of the sheet so the light will shine through.

I have a couple of "daylight" lights in the studio on my counter and on my work table, whenever I need to take a picture I move them close together. One is angled from the top, and the other from the side. With using two lights I don't need the flash from my camera- which can do some weird things to my projects, LOL! (The one on the right is from Wal-mart- about $20. The other DH picked up on Clearance for $13. I have one more that was also around $20. As soon I I go in the studio to work I turn them all on- I could not work without them. )

I do plan to do some hand sewing to make everything look better. I was just so excited to try it I only pinned it for now. LOL

You know the best part- Because DH had all of the PVC and connectors- this whole thing only cost $2.50 for the white sheet. LOL What a bargain.
If you have any questions just let me know- and NO I do not loan out my handy DH!! LOL

Happy New Year!!

I am glad to be back today. AEP is doing some underground wire work in our neighborhood. They have some contractors doing most of the work, well yesterday they cut through our phone line and they hit the electric line. We didn't have power for 6 hours- I am thankful it wasn't as cold yesterday as it has been- only in the 40's. The phone line was fixed today- it took about7 hours to fix it.

I asked DH for a photo tent for Christmas, then I emailed him a couple of blogs where they had made their own. With the kids being so sick before Christmas he wasn't able to get to it. Today with Hunter's help he got it built. I love it!!(I will get pictures of it for you later.)
Here is a card before the photo tent-

With the tent-

Neither picture has been "doctored". So what do you think?

Deets- Stamp- All things of nature

Paper-Winchester SWIC, Winchester Cardstock, TAC Black and Watercolor paper.

Accessories- Willoughby ribbon, square brads, Watercolor Crayons, Bind it all, and paper piercer.
