I have had very little studio time lately, it seems like our calendar is always full. Hunter started soccer last week. Oh, we are in for a looong season. LOL His team has ten 4.5 and 5 year olds. I am sure we are in for a lot of laughs in the coming weeks.
My mom is still doing as well as can be expected. I appreciate all the prayers being said for her.

 Today's blessings:
 -Sunshine
-Daffodils blooming
- being in 2 AMAZING Bible studies- Living a Praying Life and A Woman's Heart God's Dwelling Place
- Excited to see someone I haven't seen in a very long time this weekend

Thank yous

A dear friend took the kids for the day and gave me a much needed break. I was able to make my mom a batch of Thank you cards. She needs several for her doctors and a few good friends.
I am very pleased with how they turned out. I love the pop of color against the yellow. I did 3 of each color. (Yep, I played with the Copics again. LOL) I think one of my favor elements is the Liquid pearls!! I used it for the flower centers and then dotted it around the card base. That stuff is sah-weet!! The flower was fussy cut, I think next time I use this stamp I am not going to cut it out. LOL

Stamps- Curls and swirls (TAC), Color me flowers, Ledger and the sentiment all from Hero Arts
Ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, Charcoal Palette, Sunflower Palette
Paper- Lemon Tart
Misc.- Liquid Pearls

Red- R22, R24, R29 and E55
Blue- B91, B93, B95 and Y21

Boat card

A dear friend's step-dad turned 90 last week. (Or as he said, he celebrated his 45th anniversary of his 45th birthday. LOL) This winter has been hard on him and he was feeling a little down, so she requested cards for him. This is the one I sent him.
I used the boat from Anchor to the Soul from The Angel Company, colored with Copics. (Love that set, not only good images but wonder scriptures too!!)

(On another note- my mom was told last week that it is just a matter of time for her. If you could please keep her and our family in your prayers I would greatly appreciate it!!)

Cupcake 3

Here is cupcake #3 from the Copic Card Class- We used glitter and Scor tape where the designer paper meets the cardstock punched layer on this one. I know it is hard to see but we used the clear Spica marker on the larger heart.
I think Karrie did an excellent job on her first Copics card class. (I have already signed up for the class next month. LOL)

(I am loving the pictures taken with my new camera.  I am very thankful for the STEADY feature. I was giggling so hard while taking my cupcake card photos. My 3 year old was standing behind me making bunny ears and snickering while I took the pictures. LOL Silly girl!!)

Cupcake 2

This is cupcake #2.
I like how the hidden sentiment pulls out of the main image. I will be using this technique again soon. Too cute!! A craft blade was used to cut the slit, and the cupcake was pop dotted to give the sentiment plenty of room to slide. We used the magic matter on this one also. Pretty cute, huh?

Cupcake 1

Here is Copic Cupcake #1. We worked on directional light source in this class. I really like that this card is not the "traditional" shape. The placement of the cupcake adds a lot of interest to the card. We shaded using just one color on the cupcake wrapper. Because Copics are alcohol based you can build up your color, and then the blender can be used to remove the color from an area to help keep it lighter.
The cupcake has been layered 3 times, the first cupcake we colored the wrapper. Then the icing part was colored and cut from the second stamped image before being pop dotted on the first layer. And lastly the small heart was colored and pop dotted. (If you look closely you will notice that I colored around all the edges of all the layers to keep the white from showing.)
We used the Magic Matter for the green mat. I was so excited to use that little tool. (I have had mine in a drawer for a couple of years, negelected and unloved.LOL You can bet I will get it out and use it more often now.)
