Memorial Albums

Sorry to leave you all hanging. :-) I am still working on the Huge project- I am working on Memorial albums for both of our children's grandfathers. I know this will be the only way our kids will ever know more that "he was that guy who died along time ago." Our fathers both passed away when there were young- 49 and 58- and I am trying to fill my books with things to share their lives with Hunter and Hailey.

We visited Grandma B on Saturday- she had a lot of things to share. Way more pictures than hubby thought, she even had every grade card from school for her late husband. We spent the day going through pictures, constructing a time line, and just focusing on the man my Husband's dad was. He passed away in 1983 (when Hubby was a senior in High School) and I never had the pleasure of meeting him. We ended our visit with a trip to the cemetery. ( I would HIGHLY recommend the one line class "In Loving Memory" if you are interested in creating a scrapbook about someone you lost.)

This is going to be the title page for one of the albums (Haven't decided which one yet.)-

I used a die cut machine for all the cuts. (The green things are tufts of grass. LOL) I still need to cut a couple more things and embellish. (So yea, you will be seeing this one again. LOL)

I would love to see and pages you have done in remembrance of someone (or even a pet.) Just leave me a link so I can find it.

I am working on cleaning my studio (read- find my work surfaces. LOL) So hopefully soon I will get to share some stamping.

Just a quick note to let you know I am still here. We have been super busy, and with the weather getting nicer- well, I think *this* is going to be the new normal. LOL
I am working on a HUGE project right now. How HUGE you ask- HUGE enough to bring in help. My sweet hubby has been helping and later today we are meeting with someone else that is a part of the "team". LOL I have been doing research, writing, sketches, organizing, shopping- you get the idea. Right now all I have is a bunch of lists (remember I *heart* me some Lists?) scribbles and new computer files- oh, and a few Cricut cuts. LOL
Ok, my battery is dying so I had better run!

Have a great weekend!

Easter re-cap

It was a big weekend for us. Saturday we did a little shopping and colored eggs. Sunday was HUGE!! The Easter Bunny had made his stop, Church, then a road trip! We got to see both Grandmas. The kids did a couple of egg hunts and lots of playing and too much candy. LOL

These are just a couple of highlights. Grandma B's was the last stop before heading home. It usually takes just under 1.5 hours to get home- last night over 2.5 hours!! Traffic was horrible- 3 lanes of traffic driving about 6 MPH. YUCK!!

I was surprised to see how much better my mom is looking. She is still in kidney failure and having Dialysis 3 times each week. She was able to get out and go to church yesterday. That was a blessing. I know it did her heart good to see the kiddos. She was not expecting us, we decided after church to make the trip and surprise her. Yeah, she was surprised!

Our second stop was another surprise! Grandma B wasn't looking for us either. LOL

I guess that means we are having Easter Dinner at home today. LOL

Gerbera Daisy

This is my very first time using Gerbera Daisy from The Angel Company. Now I am wondering what took me so long!! I love the size, it is a nice, large image. (Here are more samples on Paper Wings using Gerbera Daisy.) The paper and cardstock are from the Lilly Anna collection. I used Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, Belle Rose Palette ink, Chartreuse Pallete ink, pop dots and Lilly Anna ribbon to finish my card.
(All links are red today, be sure to check them out.)

I am taking a new on-line class....

April 9th I will start a new journey. That is the day I will start the on-line class- In Loving Memory. This is a class that will help me to create a remembrance album about my dad. This month makes 9 years since he passed away. I can honestly tell you that some days are still very difficult for this daddy's girl!!
The most comforting thing about this class is that the teacher Tania has already taken this journey. It is also reassuring just knowing everyone in this class has "been there".

Non-crafty day

Hubby works with the FFA Agronomy CDEs and has been very busy since Valentine's Day. Last Saturday was the State contest and brings this season to a close. To celebrate now being free on Saturdays now we did a mini- vacation week-end. Saturday we took advantage of the beautiful weather and the Metro parks here in town. We started the day at the park with a turn of the century working farm. This is the house (Hunter's favorite part of the farm.) We watched the horse drawn potato planter in action, visited the barns, petted a 4 day old lamb, and swung on the swing hanging in the big tree beside the house. Hailey went to the top of the barn for a bird's eye-view of animals. Hunter was not the least bit interested in the pigs- the boy couldn't stand the smell. LOL

We left there and headed to another local park- the one with the pond. I grabbed a couple of the kid's ride on toys and they had a blast!

Our parks are all connected with paved trails, so after a quick ride on the toys we traded them for the wagon and used the trail to walk to another park- the one with the swings.
As soon as they had their baths we had two sleeping kids. They were wore out- in a good way!

Sunday they slept in so we didn't make church. We decided that we wanted another "adventure" day. This time we headed east, it is AMAZING what is within a 2 hour drive of Columbus.
This is Ash Cave. The kids really like it here!! The cave is so HUGE, and under the rock is the most amazing sand- Hailey's favorite part!! And at the end of the cave is this--

a 100' waterfall. This was mommy's favorite part!!

See daddy and Hunter? They are on the far left, that gives you an idea as to the size of the cave and the falls.

Looking at the cave and Cedar Falls I could not help but stop and thank God for his creation. It leaves me with an indescribable feeling knowing my Father created this and so much more. I am Blessed Beyond Measure...........

Cricut card

Ok, by now you know I am ALL about quick and easy cards. LOL I guess that is my "thang". I try to do different things, but it just doesn't work. I am working on my second year of sending birthday cards to my extended family- one my dad's side. (Mom's side would require making cards full time. LOL She had 12 brothers and sisters-Yikes!!) I am still sending cards out almost weekly between the birthdays and the cards I send to our church members. Maybe that is why I stick with quick and easy. LOL
Happy Birthday Austin!!
