Sweet Skunks

Tuesday evenings I try to use as a "work" night in my studio. I was able to get a few Valentine Cards done tonight. I chose Sweet Skunks from The Angel Company to use this year. I fell in love with those cute little stinkers the first time I saw them!! Who can resist a cute, innocent skunk with flowers? LOL
I love the Miss Moxie paper collection, it makes a very pretty non-traditional Valentine paper, don't you think? The Starburst Florals and "Love" from Love doodles are stamped in L'Amore red. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and a colorless blender. Then the Mega and Giga scalloped punched were used. I am so happy that TAC is now carrying these!!
This next card uses the ribbon from the Miss Moxie collection.

Ummm, I almost forgot to post these this month. Yikes!! I like the collection of stamps in each set. The SOTM gives you a good assortment. (BTW- I love the owl. I was an owl collector at one time. )

PS- if you have trouble reading the text on these sets, just send an email and I will get that info to you.

Rockin' Roxie Matchbook Kit

I made an album yesterday. Yep, I did the WHOLE thing. LOL I can not believe how quickly I got this album done. Oh, and it's so easy ANYONE could do it. The kit is brand new from The Angel Company. I love the colors!! Yesterday was the perfect day to use these festive colors, because the weather outside was far from festive!! LOL The kit is Rockin' Roxie Matchbook kit. (This is a part of the Miss Moxie Collection from TAC)

For only $8.95 you can complete an entire album. You get 3 twelve by twelve pages of punch- outs. For the cover, you have 2 options, the other side is blue. There are 7 double sided pages, and lots of embellies. Each page is ready to go, or embellish with the die cuts that are included. (I also stamped in mine, like here on the cover. **Why, have I not stamped on designer paper before?** I really love that look.) Other than the stamps, the only other thing I added was the ribbon to hold everything together. (I will add eyelets too, as soon as I get them.)

Here are some of the pages. The colors are perfect for many themes. I used our fall pictures. I think spring and summer pictures would be perfect too.
The stamps used are Starburst florals (a set designed to match the flowers in the Miss Moxie collection.) Swirly gigs was also used.
These little albums are great to keep on your desk or to give as gifts.
** The photos in my album are wallet size. I had mini pocket albums printed for gifts and had left overs. 4x6 would look awesome too.)

Kiddos

LOL, can't you just tell how ornery he is by looking at this picture? This is NOT how they share the car. This was one of those rare times that Brother got to drive. (But, if you look closely, you will see that Sister has her hand on the wheel to.)

So, why am I posting kids today? Because I have had some request to see the kiddos again. AND, as soon as I find the cord for my camera I have something else to share. LOL

Off to find that cord..................

Paper crafters are a strange bunch!! If not, then why would perfectly sane adults do some of the most bizarre things? Like........

1.) Buy EMPTY paint cans?

2.) Gather tons of paint samples and counter top samples from the home improvement store-and not even plan on a remodel?

3.) Eat at certain restaurants because they use those disposable coasters for your drinks

4.) Stalk those Big Brown trucks

5.) Cover candy bar wrappers with something "cuter"

6.) Target $1 Spot- need I say more?

7.) Make a card for a friend- and then keep it, because we can not bear to part with it

8.) Give away the bed out of the spare bedroom to make room for the "Studio"

9.) Spend $$$ on stamps, cardstock, inks, colored pencils, markers, adhesive, ribbon , envelopes and die cut machines to save money on cards!

10.) Feel really sad for those who just don't "get it!"

There are many more examples, but you get the picture. LOL (I will not admit to how many of these things I have done.)

Here is a very rough draft of a Valentine's love note holder. (BTW- I BOUGHT the coasters. LOL) I am going to play around with this and glam it up a bit.
Stamps are all from The Angel Company.
Until later~
PS- If you are guilty of any of the above, please leave a comment. You don't have to confess to anything, just let me know I am not alone. :-)

Another clamshell project

Here was my second entry in the Clamshell contest. I always have the hardest time finding gifts for men. Shirt, tool, tie seems to be my "go to gifts". DH is different though, last year I signed him up for cooking classes. (Boy did I benefit from those. LOL)

I think this would be a perfect gift for a man, it is an office in a box. The office supplies are all mini sized. They are just too cute.

I used the the Amelia paper, cardstock and ribbon.(TAC) I left the tags plain, but they can easily be personalized. The big round tag would make a very nice monogram.
So, what are you working on today? Something to give to someone, laundry, taking it easy, surfing the web at work, or something else? As soon as I finish here I have a few things to do before our Bible study tonight. We are having some friends over for a small group study. I am so excited. We haven't been in a small group since Hailey was born. I am looking forward to the fellowship.

Escape

Living in central Ohio this time of year can be a challenge. Seventy degrees one day and thirties the next. I never know how to dress the kids when we go out. The Angel Company had their winter get away this weekend, in San Antonio, called Escape. For those of us that could not make it, Angie and the girls over at Paper wings (a TAC demo board) planned an online version of Escape. I have really enjoyed it!! I won a round of bingo and a scavenger hunt. Rita, Angie and Diana shared business ideas. There are project to complete and contests. I got to do 2 of the contests last night. One was the Clamshell Challenge, you know, those little boxes that our stamps come in. Here is what I came up with-

This is a tiny little tag book. I ran the top and bottom parts of the box through my Bigshot with the tag die cut. It cut like butter, who would have thought? LOL I used Bazzill pink paper and the designer paper is Pop Rockz (TAC),stamps are Trendy greetings, swirly gigs, and Rag dolls. I did another one I will share later.

I hope to complete the projects soon to share.

I will give you a couple of hints about the prize- G studio stamps and my current favorite bling-Stickles!!! I am working on a couple of handmade items also.

Who can you encourage today?

This year I want to try my best to use my Spiritual gift more. Can you guess what my gift is, it is encouragement. This is a card I made today for a couple of the ladies at church, to encourage them. The stamps are retired from The Angel Company. (I know you want to see new stuff- but, it doesn't start shipping until the 10th.)

I love the yellow and red together. It just looks so cheery. It was fun creating a little cheer on a dreary January day. Oh, and yep, I used Stickles AGAIN! LOL Oh, and Prismacolor pencils, this time I blended with OMS.

HB took me to Archivers yesterday, and they were sold out of the little toy I want. I am glad to say that I am first on the list once they are back in stock.

I decided to do blog candy starting on Wednesday. More info to come.

Happy Saturday

DH called, he is already on his way home. Woo Hoo, I don't know who missed him the most, Me, the kids or the dogs. LOL He doesn't know it yet, but he is in for lots of hugs when he gets home. He also doesn't know it yet- but he is taking me to Archivers to do a little therapy shopping. LOL Speaking of shopping- I need to pick up something extra special for BLOG CANDY!!! We are coming up on 1,000 hits. I will have more details very soon. (In case you are not sure what Blog candy is- are you in for a treat! I will ask you to leave a comment, when the time is up for comments I will randomly pick a winner to get a goodie package sent to them. How cool is that?)

Wanna see another card?

This another one of those card tin cards. The Stamp is a retired one from The Angel Company. I wish that the colors would scan better. Everything looks so washed out. I would just use my camera, but until I figure out how to change the size on the new 'puter I won't be posting those ridiculously huge photos. LOL

Have a great Saturday!!

Brrr, man is it cold!! It is a frigid 25 degrees outside. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with our little ones. While growing up my dad and mom always work, oh how I hated crawling out of my nice warm bed on mornings like this. We would have to go out in the cold and just about the time the car started to warm up we had to face the bitter cold once again to head into the sitter's house- all before the first light of day. My children are blessed!!

Dh is out of town for a couple of days, and playing the part of the only parent until he gets back I have very little (read No) time to be creative. I already told him I get all next weekend. I want to take part in Paper Wings Escape. (If you are an angel and haven't checked out Paper Wings, well first shame on you. Secondly, run, do not walk over and check it out. Link to the right.) It is for all of us Angels that for what ever reason are not heading to San Antonio for the "real" Escape with The Angel Company. Projects, discussions, business ideas, prizes, OH MY!!! I am so looking forward to it.

This is another card from the card tin I made as a gift for Christmas. I used Swirly gig and Oopsie daisy (retired) stamps from TAC. I colored with Tombow markers and Tombow blender. The colored cardstock is from Stampin' Up!

Ok, enough rambling for today!!!

Until later~

Challenge card

Here is a card created for a card challenge over on the Paper Wings site. The challenge was to make a window card. I used the Coluzzle cutting system and Nesting Oval template to make the window opening. Perky Penguins is stamped inside of the card, and colored with Prismacolor pencils and a colorless blender pencil. The paper just retired from The Angel Company- Vintage Holiday. The Sentiment is Trendy Greetings, also from TAC. A little Stickles for bling, and this is a very easy card to make.

Hello

Another card. I love this butterfly, too bad it is now retired. The papers are from a DCWV mat stack. The butterfly was stamped onto the designer paper.

My little Studio

I am very blessed to have a space to call my own. I started out with EVERYTHING in a Crop bag, moved to a Iris tote (the tall narrow tower), and now it takes up almost a whole room. I know that I could add shelves and do some things differently, but I will wait until we have our own house- someday. You will see that the Studio is the perfect place to display my water globes- there they are safe from little hands. My Studio.
