This is another LO for one of my memorial albums. This is a picture of Sock and Mother-in-law taken on their Wedding day. Hubby was fortunate enough to go online and find a copy of their marriage license- how cool is that? Gotta love the high tech world we live in!!

(Sorry for the crooked picture. I really need to work on my photography skills. LOL)

The header details- Stamp set- Forever Family stamped in a Mauve color, pop dotted (and added to a cream color ribbon wrapped around the strip of designer paper), Circle elements punched with a 1" and 1.5" punches, and then accented with a few Dew Drops.

A couple more detailed shots- notice the arrow pointing from the word LOVE (also stamped with Forever Family) to the photo. The arrow and the vines were cut with the Cricut, as well as the scallop on the left edge of the Marriage License. A couple of layered, paper flowers with Dew Drop centers add the finishing touches.

Starting to think about VBS

I will be teaching pre-school crafts at Vacation Bible School this year. I can hardly wait!! I know July will be here before I am ready. =)
Our theme this year is Boomerang Express. I know several of you are using the same materials. Any Australian craft ideas for 5's and kindergartners would be greatly appreciated!!
Here is one I found on the 'net-

The large heart is cut at 5". So, 4 hearts, two ovals, two black circles and two 1/4" white circles makes a......

Cute and easy Koala. Isn't she cute? I think the Kideroos will like this one.

Here are 75 Kangaroos (with super cute joeys), these will each have one of our teachers names on them. Church members take a 'roo and pray for that teacher for several weeks leading up to VBS.

I am very thankful for the Cricut!! (Using what I have for Kingdom purposes. Thank you Pastor G!!) It sure makes quick work cutting out lots o' shapes in a short amount o' time.

Blessings

These lovely ladies greet the mailman every day. They are planted around the mail box. I love the light purple color. It is funny because they were planted from some bulbs that came from the neighbors Irises- which are deep purple and yellow.

Love these, I was starting to get a little concerned-Everyone else had blooms and all I had was lots of buds. ( I know comparison breeds discontent. LOL) So now the question- what do you call them - pee-O-nees or PINE-nees? I hear them called by both names. LOL (useless info- did you know that you can not grow peonies if you don't have ants? true, that is why they are always full of ants.)

It's Tuesday...

Yep, I have to keep reminding myself it is Tuesday and not Monday. Holidays always do that to me.
I am not going to bore you with a lot to read today, I know you are like me and like looking at the pictures, right? LOL

This is my "3rd work space". I am thinking it is going to be my favorite work space- right in front of the window.

Another shot of the table in front of the window.

Lovely little drops of Yumminess!!

My 6 foot table. This mess is a combination of mine and Hailey's-why else would there be a music box on my work surface? lol

As you can see, cleaning the studio is near the top of my list this week.

Awww, finally a crafty post

Yep, you may want to sit down for this one. LOL I am posting- AND it is a crafty post!!
So, on National Scrapbook Day I didn't get to scrap, but I did get to buy. (Almost as good, right?) My favorite LSS was giving away a gift with purchase- it was 5.5"x 8.5" pieces of chipboard cut in various shapes. (I added a couple of 5.5" square pages too.) I knew once I saw them I was going to make a mini album. I dug out some pictures and then dug a little deeper- well, a lot deeper to find the TAC Halloween paper I had been hoarding. (Well, it is retired- and I will never be able to replace it.)

I will say I am so happy with the results!! (That is something I rarely admit, I always see something that could have been better. Not with this one!! Woo Hoo!!) I am so excite to be able to share it with you.....

This is the front of my book. I used a 5.5"x4" piece of acrylic (sorry for the glare), a scary tree cut with the Cricut, some eyelets and jute. I love how each page allows just a tiny bit of the next page to show.

More Cricut cuts, cardstock, ribbons, Prima flower and a yummy Dew drop.

Love the scallops on this one. This is where Stickles were introduced.OK, are you seeing why I was saving this paper? I love the funky designs and colors. Not at all spooky and scary. LOL

This shows a couple of the pages, see the edge designs? So cool.

OK, SO what do you think??

Yadda Yadda

Non- crafty day warning. I have taken a small break from the Remembrance albums. It is emotionally draining trying to get the stories and and the info surrounding their lives and deaths on paper . That, and I finally decided to use up the retired TAC Halloween paper. LOL I tell I have scramper's ADD. LOL

Hubby finished building the boxes for my raised vegetable gardens. We have 4 boxes waiting for soil. We had to go with raised beds because we have rock and not so much dirt. Several years ago this area was an apple orchard and when the houses were built the rich fertile soil was all scooped off and sold- leaving us with shale.

Hubby brought home a load of good dirt yesterday. After dinner this was our family fun- shoveling dirt. LOL (Notice that part of the back glass is duct taped? Yep, and big clump of dirt hit the glass. It is being replaced this morning. LOL)

Hopefully next time (fingers crossed) I will have something crafty to share.

Sock's school picture LO

Here is a LO for another Memorial album. I posted the picture of MY dad's title page. Well, this is a LO for my husband's dad's album. I am tandem scrapping memorial albums, call me crazy. (Oh, and to help keep them separated- My dad is Pops and hubby's dad is Sock.)

This is one of Sock's school pictures. Can you believe that Mother-in-law has every one of his grade cards from school? Every one!! That just blows me away. Something else that blows me away- Sock had perfect attendance for 10 YEARS!!

I love how this turned out. This is an 8x8 LO. I have ordered a 12x12 3 ring album so I can use a variety of LO sizes.

Grandma B- What do you think? Oh, and don't worry, I made a set of pictures for us to use. You will be getting your unharmed originals back- soon!! :-)

Flower card

How about another card? I used some left over pieces from my last card to make the die-cut flower. I think that the coral (or is it Salmon??) colors look very striking when paired with black. Icicle stickles was added for a little sparkle. (Stickles is the off spring of glue and glitter. LOL Yep, glitter in a convenient little squeeze bottle.) After cutting my leaves, I inked the edges with Jardin Moss Pallette ink. I then finished off the leaves with the Scor-Pal and then adhered only half of each leaf to my card base for some dimension.

In loving memory

This is the title page for my dad's remembrance album. Tania is doing an excellent job with the In Loving Memory class!! She is encouraging us each week to not only remember but to "be Gentle on Ourselves".

Tania's tree page also contained her mom's family tree. I will do my dad's family tree on the next page. I have a couple of things in mind to use on every page. As I complete them and post maybe you will spot my "theme". ;-)

All elements were created with the Cricut. I am loving my Bug!! Cartridges used- Pooh and friends, Storybook, and Doodle Charms. Palette inks were used on each piece.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Phil 1:3.

Starburst florals

I love the Sentiment on this card, and have used it many times. It is in the Oh How stamp set from TAC. The flowers are from Starburst Floral. Sadly, both of these stamp sets will be retired after July 1. (Don't forget that all retiring stamp sets are 25% off. ) I used my Black Stazon ink pad for the very first time. I love it!! It stamps so nice and crisp. Honestly, I was concerned that it would stain my stamps (weird, stained stamps do not bother me!!) but it cleaned right off. I am so glad I finally broke the seal on that one!! The cardstock was from one of the Bazzill Mono packs, lovely color- not really red, rose or pink, more of a dark coral color?? (Sorry forgot which pack, but it is in my "red" paper tray. LOL)

We have been very busy since my last post. We had something going on every night except one last week. And yesterday we had morning church then I baked 7 dozen cookies. And then back to church to hear the Pastor and several others tell of their recent trip to China.
Six Dozen of the cookies are going to local prison inmates this coming weekend. A friend of ours is going with a team to minister at a prison for older inmates. One way they show these men God's Love in a practical way is through home baked cookies. Please pray that God's Will be done. (If you have never done anything like this I would encourage you to do so. First check with your local facility regarding regulations for providing food. This prison has some very strict rules.)
