My Heart Gives Thanks

My Heart gives Thanks- I really like this fall image. This card is for a fall birthday, a late fall birthday. I usually send her a card with flowers or something more seasonally generic, I am sure she will be surprised with this one. LOL
Oh, and I used the Tombow Markers to color the image- I know, I surprised myself too when I grabbed them instead of the Prismacolor pencils. LOL I really do need to use those markers more often, I really like the intensity of the colors. And they are very easy to work with and each set of colors comes with a blender marker.
I can not believe that October is gone!! Where did it go? Anyone know?? We are having a Festival at church tonight for the kids. Hunter and Hailey are so excited!! They can not wait to wear there little costumes. I can hardly wait to take pictures. Daddy did the pumpkin last night, and he did an awesome job.

Happy Mail!!

My friend Natalie sent this beautiful card. There are a lot of details- inked edges, the scalloped cardstock strip, the ovals and the bling. Believe me the photo does not do this one justice. I think I have mentioned before that she is the one that got me hooked on stamping.
You will never believe what was inside-

See the top stamp? See what it says? Blessed beyond measure- How cool is that? I almost fell over when I saw that!! LOL (BTW- I stole this photo from her blog. LOL Mine had a lot of glare.) I am so excited to add these to my stamp collection!!

Thank you Natalie!!! Blessings to you!!

Playful kittie

I finally got to spend a little time in the studio last night. In 3 hours I completed 3 cards. LOL

Here I *tried* to mix and match patterned papers. I am not sure it works for me- but it's MUCH better than the first one I had laid out. LOL *shudder* The paper is from a pack I got a couple of years ago. Everyone was going crazy over it at the time, and well, I jumped on that bandwagon. Honestly, it is not me. LOL Lesson learned, there will always be another wagon coming along in a minute- just wait for the right one. LOL

I do love the image (Playful Kitties) and the felt flower-paper flower- button combo. LOL

Hope you have a great day!!

Happy Monday!!

I have nothing crafty, and I know that some of you have been wanted to see the kiddos again, so here you go. LOL This is my 2 peas. LOL I am amazed at how much they love each other. When asked who his best friend is Hunter always says, "Lailey". LOL He has called her that long before she was born. He is such a good big brother.
Mom's Pathogoly reports came back clean!!!
DH made it home safely!!
I am truly Blessed Beyond Measure!!!

Take Pride

This is my nap time card. When Hailey finally went down for her nap yesterday Hunter and I ran to the studio to "make cards." I am looking forward to the day that I can have both kiddos in there creating with me. But, until Hailey gets a little older I will steal my moments during nap time.

You all know I have been doing several Masculine cards, and looking over my list I still have many more to make. This is one from yesterday.

The image is from Take Pride. {oooppps the server is down, no link today} I like adding the peach color to the image, it reminds me of the elephants at the zoo, they seem to always have some dried mud on them.

After I got this one all done I really wished I would have made a couple more while I was at it, and I already had everything out. LOL The inside is stamped with a sentiment and I used the Herd of elephants from this set also.

Mom's Surgery-

The Surgeon was very pleased at how everything went today. She was injected with a Nuclear dye that travels to the Lymph Nodes. The dye did what it was supposed to do and only one Lymph Node was removed, the Doctor said she was 98% positive that it was clean. The tissue around where the clip was (where the tumor had been) looked great and felt like it was only some scar tissue. The test results should be back by Friday, when the Doc checks her "handiwork." Now with 30 Radiation treatments she should be done. She was home and eating when we left around 3. We are very Thankful for the good news.

Dh is out of state this week, but I am soooo hoping to steal a couple of seconds to be creative!!! I went to a crop on Saturday- at the end of the day I had nothing to show. LOL Isn't that SAD?!? It seems that my brain was so busy thinking of mom and Hailey that it kind of drown the tiny little creative corner. LOL

Today's blessings-
*Good news from the surgeon*
*Hailey is doing well on the new meds*
*Making new creative friends*
*Time with other Moms of little ones*
*Sleeping in my own bed*

I AM Blessed Beyond Measure!!!!

Mom's surgery is tomorrow.

Very quick post today. Sorry I haven't been around this week. I really didn't have anything to share.
We are heading to my mom's after church today. She is having surgery tomorrow to remove the clip where the cancer was in her breast. They will take a couple of Lymph Nodes and check them right there in the OR, the Doc expects them to be clean. We are praying that everything goes as expected.
Hailey seems to be doing well on her meds. I am so thankful for that.

Thanks for remembering my family in your prayers.
Love to all!!

Sympathy card

I made a couple Sympathy cards last week and sent. (I am really loving this design, and I will be using it for some of my Christmas cards.)

(The jury is still out on the Treading water punch. every now and then I get a double punched hole on my last punch. Any tips would be appreciated!! I use the punch upside down, but when I get to the last punch the cardstock gets misaligned because the rest of the paper has the edge trimmed already- YKWIM?)

Paper- TAC's Mimi Collection

Stamps- Swirl retired LE set, With Sympathy

Misc- Circle 2.5" circle, Scallop Circle, Treading Water punch, Mimi Ribbon

Hailey seems to be doing well on her new medicine. I am so thankful she has not had any problem with it.

Saturday

The local Christian bookstore had Bob and Larry from the Veggie Tales there yesterday. They were celebrating the release of the latest Veggie movie- The Pirates who don't do anything. We are HUGE veggie fans here! Hailey had heard the Veggie Tales theme so much intrauterine that when she was just a couple of hours old and the DVD started to play in our hospital room Hailey turned her tiny little head to the TV. I kid you not, she recognized the music. Veggie Tales were on a lot during my pregnancy with her- Hunter was only 22 months old when she was born, so that was a good wholesome way to entertain him. LOL

I should mention the kids were so excited to see Bob and Larry- from the van. Once we were face to face- it was a whole different story. LOL They both hide behind our legs, stealing a peek every now and then. LOL

After Bob and Larry we headed to Apple Butter days, we got some Kettle Korn and Apple Butter. Hailey liked the cloggers, and we looked at the crafts- spinning, quilting, candle dipping, etc.... and then we saw these-->
Needless to say, our pumpkins WILL NOT look like this. LOL

Two more Punkins. LOL--> This one was HUGE, that is a trailer it is loaded on. I bet it is headed to the Pumpkin Festival next week.

Lottsa layers

It is a beautiful Saturday here. I hope to take the kiddos to the Apple Butter Festival here in town today. We have never been there, so I think we should to check it out. DH loves apple butter, so we *need* some. LOL Who knows what else we will get into today. LOL

The card today is a "lottsa layers card", can you believe there are 6 layers? Yikes!! Other than the Scripture, the ribbon is my favorite part of this one. So yummy!

Have a Great weekend!!!

Fall Good Timber

I love fall!! It has always been my favorite time of year. I don't know why, I just love it. LOL
This is my feeble attempt at copying the beauty of the season. I used Good Timber and the Miss Moxie Soar with it collection (DP, cardstock, ribbon and hardware.) The image was stamped with Versamark and colored with Earth tone chalks. I really like this technique for a solid stamp, it is a good way to add different colors. And it is fun to watch the image magically appear. LOL

Boo!

I LOVE this card!! I have a few more to make, but I will definitely be keeping one of these. It is rare I keep a card for myself, but this one is extra special. Just how special is it??? Well, that is my baby's foot. I traced Hailey's foot to create the little ghost. (I traced Hunter's foot too, but his is better suited for a scrapbook layout. LOL Just slightly too big for the A2 card. LOL)
The Boo! stamp and wiggly eyes were finds at Archivers. (I really like that store- sometimes. LOL Some times I can go in and not spend anything and other times- well, let's just say I have some fun. LOL)

a simple card and updates

This is one of the cards I made during work time last night. I used the Fall Harvest set again, I am loving this image. The stamped image was trimmed with the paper trimmer- except for a small part of the flower which was trimmed with scissors. It adds interest to the image when a small part sticks outside "the box", doncha think? This card is a very simple design and not embellished much but, look at the supplies used.........

Here is a peek at what was used to make my "simple" card. LOL The Scor-pal and V-Blade Paper Trimmer are used on EVERY card I make. LOL And the Prismacolor Pencils and OMS (in the small Baby food jar setting on the collection of blending stumps) are used a good bit too. You can also see I used the Palette Noir ink pad (a must have IMO),

glue dots (for holding the ribbon in place),

sentiment stamp on the acrylic block,

white chalk marker (dots on the flower)

Paper piercer (used to place glue dot under ribbon knot)

black Micro pen (dots around image and outlining flower)

card stock and ribbon. And, after I had all these things put away I heard a few faint sobs coming from my work table, it seems I forgot to add two very important supplies.....

How could I ever forget the ATG and these handy little scissors?? LOL So here they are, in all of their glory. LOL

OK, I need to know where I ever got the idea that making my own cards would SAVE us $$$!!! LOL (Honey, if you are reading this- these things will eventually pay for themselves, promise! *wink*)

Now some updates-

Hailey is doing very well. Her lungs are clear and sound great. The Allergist/Asthma DR added another med and said this should do the trick. Monday, her family DR was pleased with her progress. (I love having a Christian DR that still prays for and with her patients!! She even calls out of the blue to check in.)

Mom has surgery on Oct 20th to remove the marker where the tumor USED to be. It is completely gone!! Praise God!! They will remove a couple of Lymph Nodes at that time and check them- but they are expected to be clean. She will then start Radiation- 5 days a week for 6 weeks.

Also, my Aunt has recently found out that she has cancer of the Kidney. Her surgery to remove at least half of the kidney is Oct. 30th. Please keep her in prayer.

Fall Harvest

Fall Harvest is a new stamp set in The Angel Company's Fall Supplement. This little lady is so cute with that big ol' flower. I was very surprised how large the image is, the card is 4.25"x5.5". I am using some of my older paper from my stash and wanted to coordinate my image colors (colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS) to the paper. (So that is how I ended up with that red sunflower. LOL)

I shot this picture at a funny angle so you could see the designer paper inside the card. The front edge was trimmed to allow the dp to show.

Halloween

Hunter asks every day if today is Halloween, and every day I tell him no, that it is __ days away. He asked again on Friday so I decided to make a Countdown calendar for him and Hailey. It took just a couple of minutes to complete, and we had fun too. LOL Hunter and Hailey used my Big Shot and some Sizzix dies to cut the numbers. I was surprised at how easy the Big Shot is for them to use (MUCH easier than Hunter's Cuttlebug Kids!!!!) The image is a retired stamp from The Angel Company, Colored with Prismacolor pencils. I picked up the ribbon and the designer paper at my favorite scrap book store. (There was only ONE piece of that paper left in the whole store- Waaaaah. LOL) The card stock is Bazzill (and the page with the 6 is really purple!!) I used the Bind-it-all so my numbers would flip and so they are all attached to my base. The base is a rectangular coaster- LOVE them!!

Ok, so are you ready to see this super cool Halloween countdown calendar?

Here it is...............................................

I wasn't around much last week- Hailey bug had a cold and it caused another Asthma attack on Thursday. Yep another 5.5 hours in Children's ER. This was her 3rd trip there in 6 weeks. She sees her DR tomorrow and then back to the Allergist/Asthma DR on Tuesday. Please join us in prayer that they can get her meds regulated. I really hope to have her in good shape before the cold and flu season gets going. (Oh and after 6 breathing treatments and a liquid steroid she was like ADHD on speed. I kid you not, my sweet little angel was a total mess. LOL)
