Start each day with Whee!!

I have become totally smitten with MFT's Pure Innocence stamps. The little girls remind me so much of my own little girl. (The last card I shared reminded me of how Hailey loves junk food! ) This cute little girl is another one that reminds me of Haileybug- she love, love, Loves to swing! We had to leave her swing set in Ohio when we moved last summer. (Easter morning she was excited to find a swing among the other toys they scored from the Easter Bunny! As soon as daddy gets a chance to hang it in the tree out front I know where she will spend the long hours of summer!! LOL) Oh, and almost as much as she loves to swing she loves clothing with stripes! :-)
So, here is Hailey in stamp form-

MFT- Pure Innocence Start each day with Whee. I used the My Mind's Eye  Follow your Heart paper collection.(I love the softness of the colors.) The bird collage was already on the paper, I just cut the paper for proper placement on my card. I paper pieced her little dress, and used strips of the same paper at the top of my card. For added details I used Liquid Pearls on those strips.
The image layer was die cut using Labels 8 Nestibilities. And of course the coloring was done with Copic markers- G24, 99 R20, 32, 30 C1 E00, 01, 25, 53, 55, 99 Y 21 and YR24. The lace trim is some I have had for ages.

The inside. Again I used scraps leftover from the card front and added the doily that was hand cut from one of the papers in the collection.
I appreciate you stopping by!!

How about a sweet card today? :-)

MFT- Pure Innocence Sweet Greetings
The inside.
When I first saw this little cutie I knew she had to come live with us. After all I believe she is Hailey's twin!! LOL Hailey is our little junk food junkie and looks like this little girl likes some of the same things! Because she reminds me of Hailey I had to dress her in a way that Hailey would dress. Dontcha love her little pants? I could see sister wearing them.
Ninety-nine percent of the time I use the entire stamped image. But I wanted to do something a little different for this card, so I grabbed my largest circle punch and scalloped circle punch. (I used them again for my sentiment on the inside of the card.)
I used the My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Tickled Pink papers. MME is one of my favorite paper lines, and they recently released a ton of new collections. I paper pieced her clothes with the same paper collection. (Paper piecing the Pure Innocence images reminds me of the paper dolls I used to play with.)
I grabbed a handful of Copic markers to finish my image. E00, 01, R20= skin E97, 99, YR 24= Hair, B02, 05= cotton candy, B00= shadow, and R 29 for the shading on her shirt.
The card base is Orange Zest and the ribbon is from my stash.
I used the scraps to make the inside of my card look special too.

You Make the Grade-MFT

I have enjoyed some creative time in the studio the past few days. I placed an order with MFTstamps a couple of weeks ago. I have been stamping for several years but for the first time EVER I jumped in and made cards with every set I received! It helped that I got some Pure Innocence sets (my first ones), and they are adorable!!
You Make the Grade by My Favorite Things
My friend Natalie was kind enough to send me this Pink Paislee (Old School) paper collection. (Thank you, Natalie!!) It was perfect for this little lady. Her little outfit was paper pieced using some of the fun papers. I carried out the school theme by using the Round Binding Punch to create my "notebook" paper.

The inside needs attention too, right? (Tip: use your leftovers to pretty up the insides of your cards and use up your scraps too!)
Copics used are: R20, 89,46  E000, 00, 01, 25,27,29,31,35,37    YR24  C1, 3, 5, 7
I liked this card so much I went ahead and made a second one while I had the stamp inked up. :-)
Thanks for stopping by!!

Snowmen cards

It is another beautiful day here. We have had higher than normal temperatures for most of the winter, and now that spring is here we are loving the longer days and warmer weather. We have been spending lots of time outside, coat free. I heard we have a chance of snow this weekend! Boo! I am sharing a few cards today using the Sweet 'n Sassy snowman stamp (Warm Hello) and the Taylored Expressions KI card kit from December.

I love how paper piecing adds more detail to stamped image. Sometimes I prefer having patterned pieces on my images, something I can't do just by coloring.

For this card I fussy cut some penguins from the designer paper. (Great way for this paper hoarder to use designer paper without using "too much!" LOL)
The card front is cut in half so the inside layer becomes a part of the card design.

A shot of the fussy cut penguins.
I can add a personalized message inside the card and it is hidden when the card is closed.

Back to the snowman again. I rounded opposite corners on the image layer and added a little Baker's Twine.

This little guy has the colorful designer papers (see the yellow border peeking from behind the red/pink strip?) I added Diamond stickles to this one, it reminds me of how the sun shines on new snow and looks like a million diamonds. :-)
Boy, I hope the weatherman is wrong!! I am hoping for another warm weekend!

Another Pinterest inspired project- Diaper Motorcycle

I was asked to make a center piece for a baby shower at our church last weekend. I thought about a diaper cake for maybe 2 seconds, until I found directions for a Diaper Motorcycle. (Original post with tutorial <-- Click) The bike was very easy and super quick to make, and oh so adorable!! (Hunter loved it!! If it had not been made from diapers he would have kept it. LOL)

 Is that the cutest thing??!!
If you haven't checked out Pinterest.com yet I would strongly suggest you do so! :-)

Colored pencils on Kraft

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. I love the bright colored flowers on kraft cardstock. I drug out the Prismacolor pencils for this one and I admit it was fun using them again.

As a Christmas gift to myself, I subscribed to Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient card kit. Really, if you have not checked it out.... You Should!! There are enough goodies in each kit to make 16 cards and have some left over!!
My cards today are CASED from the KI gallery.

I did change them up slightly, to make them mine. (You can check out the inspiration cards here--> KI Gallery.)
