This 12x12 layout was for the April Chopped Challenge over on
iVillage. Our "mystery ingredients" this month were Something that is not a scrapbook supply (this is getting harder and harder to find because scrappers can use almost anything on a page and make it look good!!) Ink, something round, only one picture and something to add texture.
This photo shows the details along the bottom of my photo. I used various size punches to punch these circles from a piece of Echo Park designer paper. I think it is so cool that my punches were the perfect sizes for the circles. :-) I popped the smaller ones and sprinkled in a few glittered flowers with tiny bling centers for some texture. (The circles already had glittered centers= more texture.)
My title was created with white foam thickers, I inked them up with a couple different Distress Ink colors. (Texture and ink.) Tip: to save money, buy your embellishments in white and customize them yourself.
Even more texture was added with this pleated flower, button and twine handmade embellishment. I cut a 1.75" strip of coordinating Echo Park paper to make the flower. The button and twine are what I used for the "something that is not a scarpbook supply" I know, I kind of took the easy way out with that one. LOL
Here is my finished layout. I LOVE the photo!! Wouldn't it be hilarious if they were texting each other??!! (Maybe they are texting, "I wish Lisa would put down the camera!! Sheesh!!" LOL)
AND because I wanted even more texture I added the bling in two different colors!! LOL All of the edges of the flat papers were inked with Vintage Photo.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Until later~
