My Life...

This is my sweet girl- from a week ago Sunday. Who would know that by Tuesday she would be running a fever and sleeping- a lot. The fever would come and go until Friday. That is when she started complaining her ear hurt. My sister came to town to spend the weekend, and kindly volunteered to keep Brother while we took Sweetpea to Children's ER. Five hours later we were sent on our way home with a RX, follow up directions and one very tired little lady (After all it was 2:45 Saturday morning before we could leave the hospital!) Diagnosis- Strep throat, Scarlet Fever AND an ear infection!!  She really knows how to do it, doesn't she?
I am so grateful that we do not have to use the ER very often. That place was a zoo. Seriously!!! A guy (probably 20 ish) came in and had been shot in the hand. Cops soon closed off one of the major hallways in the ER. Then a guy came in in shackles and an orange jumpsuit. And then a whole herd of Amish came by. Seriously, all those in our corner started laughing and then joking about hidden cameras planted just to watch our reactions. I felt like I was on Hidden Camera. LOL
Saturday morning we were back up at 7, brother had Soccer pictures followed by a game. (Early afternoon he develops symptoms too, so he was started on Hailey's meds too.)

Follow up at our family DR went well, I had started treating Brother early so he was all cleared up. Sister is much improved, a few more days on the meds should do the trick.

Today's Blessings:
My children are in good health-
We have some of the best Children's doctors here in town
My sister
Blocks and toys being played with
Excellent Medical care
Medication -so things like Scarlet Fever are no longer  fatal
Popscicles
A Crop tomorrow night at our church
Building robots out of "junk"

Busy life

What a crazy week. This week we have had- a Deacon's meeting, my ladies Bible study, Kindergarten roundup, 2 soccer practices, a Community Action Team meeting (an outreach ministry we are involved in at church), a FIRST Soccer game, mom was in the hospital- again, I finished a mini album, and an overnight Deacon retreat. That along with all the "regular" stay at home mom duties, whew, what a week.
This is Hunter after his first Soccer game this morning. I think his sweet little face says it all!! LOL

The last MME Jack and Jill Layout

This finishes up my layouts using the My Minds Eye Jack and Jill collection. The photo was from Easter 2009, yes, I am just getting to it. LOL
I will start with some details today- I love the legs on that bird. LOL Talk about stick legs.

The embelly in the upper right corner. I used the Upper Crust punch on a scrap (you know that little strip at the bottom of the paper that shows what is on the backside- yep, that's it.I have been using those for a couple of years now.LOL) and a scrap of the stripes. A flower and leaf cut from Bazzill Bling, a ticket from the collection, and a snap with a gem.

The red bird paper was cut from the die cut sheet. (The top portion was used for another layout, remember seeing it?) The diamonds are accented with a tiny coordinating half pearl. And you get a glimpse of the title, which is the other half of the one you have already seen. Don't be afraid to use the same elements for more than one scrapbook page.

But it all together and this is what you get. (See the ribbon and snap on the left side?) I must say I really love this whole collection!! Can you believe that for only $18 I now have 4 beautiful 12x12 layouts and some extra pieces to play with? Wow!! Not to mention I got to try some cool new products!!

Oh so happy to have you in my life

The last two posts have been pictures of Sister, so how about a brother LO today? This is still the My Minds Eye Jack and Jill collection. The pictures were taken last June. We spent the day in Philadelphia, PA and stopped for a snack. Both kids wanted chocolate ice cream with Chocolate sprinkles. Do you see the ice cream on his face? I asked him if I could lick it off- he just laughed! LOL

This is a close up of the lolipop flower accent. Here you can also see the red punched border, the bow with a snap center, hand cut leaves and the larger pearls. I used the ticket from the collection to add the date and place the photo were taken.

This is the title, one of the papers in the collection was strips of all different patterns- this was one of the strips. I added a small punched border (from a small scrap I had left over) and some small pearls.

I got a little carried away with the pearls. LOL I even used them on this photo. =)

So Cute

Another layout using the My Minds Eye Jack and Jill collection. I have never used a die cute cardstock before. I ♥ the look, but just never used one, until now. I am so glad those big snaps (used one for the center of my bow) were a part of the kit. I hadn't used those before either. (My next trip to the scrapbook store I will be looking for more of them!!)

Be Happy

What do you know, I can still scrapbook!! LOL I thought I had forgotten how. Let me start off by saying a HUGE thanks to Karrie for putting this incredible kit together for Pizazz It! (My favorite local scrapbook store.) This month we got the My Minds Eye Jack and Jill collection. I love the colors, and the textures of the paper- oh my!!
One of my favorite things about this layout is the layering of all the elements- cardstock, ink, designer papers, photos, diecuts, and that cool ex-large snap.
 Ready for I Spy?
- Hand cut large scallop border
- the red, green, white retro designer paper is the back side of the red stripe used for the 10.5 inch circle
-inked edges (I used a Glitz roller for the dots along the edges)
-pearls on the tails of the p's and the y
- Bazzil bling paper die cut flower and leaf
- snap that says "Cute"
-sanded edges on the photos (I like how that creates a "frame" for the photos)
-chocolate ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles from a street vendor in Philadelphia, PA
- two very sleepy eyes LOL
So, did you have to scroll back to the photo to spy all the details? =)
(You can check out Karrie <--- here.)
