Wisemen Christmas card

Super fast and easy card share today. I am still sharing cards made with the We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost 6x6 paper pad (I got it in the Taylored Expression Key Ingredient card kit in December 2012.)
I removed this clear stamp set from the package long ago and I don't remember who made it. :-/
All edges were distressed with Memento London Fog ink. The pearls are liquid pearls.
There you have a 5 minute card!!
Yhanks for stopping by!

Our adventures in Girl Scouting- A Daisy's story

Last Tuesday was Sister's first Girl Scout meeting. She already has a ton of badges she would like to earn, and she is going to have to be on the ball. She is a Daisy this year and because she promotes to Brownies next year her goal is to earn her Petals (11 total) and complete 3 journeys.... plus earn some fun patches along the way.
We are both brand new to Girl Scouts but that didn't stop me from leading this week's meeting!!
Yea, I really began to worry on Thursday about what I should do at our Tuesday meeting. Thank goodness for Pinterest!! I found tons, and tons, and tons...... of ideas.
We working on learning the Girl Scout promise, the first part of the Girl Scout Law-  "I will do my best- to be honest and fair....." We practiced being fair. Made crafts, played the M&M game, learned a new song, read a story and decorated cookies!!
And in a blink of an eye, our 2 hours were up! LOL

I think Girl Scouts will be good for Sister. (And I am sure Brother will come to love Girl Scouts too, he has 2 hours sister free! LOL)
I will be updating on her progress throughout the year on how our little Daisy is doing!

Thanks for stopping by!

Using my Hoarded supplies

I have been getting the Key Ingredient Card Kit from Taylored Expressions for a couple of years. Sad to say, but I have a few kits I have not gotten around to using yet. As a personal challenge I am going to be using those hoarded kits.....along with some hoarded stamps!! :-)
The first one I grabbed was the December 2012 kit featuring the We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost 6x6 paper pad.
We R Memory Keepers - Winter Frost Collection - 6 x 6 Paper Pad
I love the colors, not "Christmasy" but perfect for winter.

I love the kraft, teal pop of red color combo. The paper collection already had some distressing, so I added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink- it really helps to define the layers.

A little added detail- Glossy Accents added to Santa's glasses.
Supplies-
Stamps- from my stash (I removed them from the package and I don't remember who made them) Sentiment-Peaceful Poinsettia Taylored Expressions
Ink- memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Paper- We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost
Dies- Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Rectangles Lg, From the Heart die-Taylored Expressions
Copic Markers-E00, 01
C2
R24, 27, 29
Misc- Glossy Accents, pop dots
I have a couple more cards in the works using this same collection. I will be posting them this week.
Thanks for stopping by!

Leaves are falling

Honestly, after the wind and rain last night I am surprised to see any leaves left on our trees! We had 45 mile per hour winds. I knew I would not be able to go to sleep with the constant roar of the wind so I took advantage of the situation and made a couple of cards.
I am finding lots of inspiration in card challenges that I am finding on-line. I also love to see what others are creating.
This sketch was yesterday's challenge on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.

After coloring the images I used some Stickles, I really wish the camera would capture the sparkle and shine! This card came together sooo fast thanks to the coordinating dies! I LOVE dies!! Dies mean I don't have to fussy cut!!
Supplies-
Stamp- Falling for you (SOTM) Taylored Expressions and Coordinating dies
Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black
Copic markers- E31, 35, 57
Y17, 19, 21

The Pink Elephant color challenge

We have the makings of a busy week here so I am sharing another card while I have some free time. I have said it a million times, I am not a big fan of Halloween. It is just not my thing. Having said that (again!) I am going to show you what I made yesterday.
I will also mention that I made this card for another challenge I found on-line. The Pink Elephant's challenge this week is a color challenge- Black, orange and purple. Sounds like fun, huh? This was an easy one for me, for some reason I had bought this stamp a couple of years ago and had not inked it up yet. (I am not happy with the way the Memento Tuxedo ink worked on the tree. I think I need to get a Versafine Black Onyx ink pad.)

I actually like the way it turned out, well except for the tree. I love the way that the moon turned out! (I think I remember now why I bought this stamp, just so I could try the moon technique. LOL) Here on the prairie we get lots of chances to see the huge moon rising over the horizon. Love it!
I used my circle punch to make a stencil for the moon, then ink was applied with the Ranger ink blending tool and a makeup sponge.
So, for my black, orange and purple card I used the following supplies-
Stamp- Halloween Night cling (I am not able to find this one on-line)
Ink- memento Tuxedo Black, Palette Hybrid ink Raw Sienna and Sun Flower, and Tim Holtz Black Soot and Spiced Marmalade
Paper- Echo Park Chillinsworth Manor 6x6 pad (old) and PTI cardstock Smokey Shadow, Canyon Clay and Plum pudding
Copic markers- C2
Misc- We R Memory Keepers Black Onyx Washi tape and  Kaisercraft Black pearls
OK, so I will admit this is a little out side of the box for me, but I enjoyed making it.So, tell me what you think of my card.
A big thank you to The Pink Elephant for the challenge. Head on over and check out the other entries.

Eureka Stamps Challenge #60- Anything Goes

Last week my friend Kristie posted a beautiful card on her blog for a challenge at Eureka Stamps. (She is on the DT for Eureka, stop by and check her out at Kristie Kreates.)The theme was "Wings and things" when I saw the theme I wanted to play along and I knew exactly which stamp set I wanted to use!So, I got busy and stamped this image from Delightfully Spooky, I paper pieced her little dress and used some Copic Markers to color the image......... and then I got busy with other things and didn't get her finished before the deadline to submit her! My disappointment was brief, this morning  I was very excited to see the new theme for the challenge this week is "Anything Goes!!" Yeah, I get to submit this little darling after all! Yeah, for submitting for the first time!

Isn't she adorable?  And can you believe she is part of a Halloween set? I love fall, but Halloween is not my thing, unless it is "cute" Halloween. (Remind me that I don't like Halloween when I post my next card!! LOL It is another Halloween card, and not the cutsie kind. LOL)

Here is the completed card. I got a little bit carried away with the layers, don't you think? LOL

Sending smiles....

Today I am sharing another CASed card. You can see the original HERE. I did change it up slightly, I used a paper flower on mine and I didn't use any ribbon.

I used the September Key Ingredient card kit and Stamp of the month stamp set from Taylored Expressions. I used some colored ink, I really can not remember the last time I used something other than black or brown!! The I used was not a good match for the cardstock, but when I used the 2nd generation stamp technique it matched perfectly! (2nd generation stamping is when you ink up your stamp, stamp it on a scratch paper and then onto the paper you are using without re-inking. This gives you a lighter shade of ink color.)
When you cut your 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock you can get 4 mats from one sheet, so I went ahead and made four identical cards. I love the sentiment, it is perfect to send to the folks "back home."
Supplies-
Paper- We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard 6x6 pad,  Bazzill cardstock
Ink- memento Tuxedo Black, Orangerie Palette Ink
Misc- paper flower, Pearl- Kiaser Scrapbook
Yeah for quick cards!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
