Visit to the ER Layout

** Sorry for the gross photos. **

Last May  Hunter slipped in a water puddle and cut his knee on a rock. We took him to the Emergency Room where he was stitched up and sent home in short order. The small photo on the top right was taken the day after his stitches were removed. Yea, it had opened back up, so he now has a scar.

Hunter chose the "Caution" background paper, he thought it was hilarious for this layout. LOL
I used the ER Visit cut file from Treasure Box Designs. (You can see it HERE.) This is the second layout I cut with my Silhouette Cameo, let's just say I LOVE the Cameo!!
I will give you a  peek at how I like to design my layouts. I place my photo mats and die cuts in my designer software so I can see everything (and make adjustments to sizes) before making my first cut. (Not only am I a visual person, but I am stingy with my paper too!! LOL)

This is a screen shot of my design in my software. (Notice I omitted the blue tab on the right top photo when I actually put my layout together.) Once I get my project designed I save a screen shot to refer back to once I have all of my layers cut. Doing it this way is way faster for me. While the kids sleep and I can't use my noisy cutter I can design everything, then it is just a matter of a few minutes to cut and assemble.

Load #9

I had mentioned in the last post about using the divided page protectors, this layout accompanies some of those pages. The pictures are from Hailey's 3rd Birthday Adventure. We surprised her with a trip to The Cheesecake Factory and Build a Bear.
The pictures I used on my layout are of Hailey with her kitty and Hunter with "Fluff."

The kids had so much fun picking, stuffing, brushing, naming and dressing their new friends. (After I finished this LO Hailey got a little teary-eyed. She wants to go to Build a Bear again, but the closest one is in Montana and over 8 hours away. So, our goal for net summer... a little road trip to make some new friends!!)
 I will add a title with Thickers, gotta go shopping first. LOL

Painting Pumpkins 2009 - LOAD #8

This may technically be the eighth share, But I have gotten so many photos in albums! Not only that, but I have pictures printed and pictures for '10, '11 and '12 organized and ready to print. (If you are wondering why I am working on 2009 pictures, well, that is what I have on this computer. Other years are on Cd's and I lost some when my computer crashed!! But, let's not talk about that!!)

I am using divided page protectors in 3 ring binders, and I can not tell you how much I am loving them!! The pictures are making their way out of my photo boxes and being put into albums. I don't feel as if I need to scrap every single photo and it is so easy to organize them by year.

OK, enough blabbing!!

 

Sorry for the awful photo, I need to find a good way to photograph 12x24 layouts. I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch from the October 2012 Halloween Bundle. Scrapbook Generation is a new site I found this week and I have downloaded several sketches already and have more on my wish list!!:-)
I used an old Halloween paper pad by The Paper Studio for my photo mat, strips and banners. The pumpkins were die cut with 2 different pumpkin dies, faces were added to some and some are pop dotted. When you click on the photo you will see Hailey not only painted her pumpkin, but also painted her lips with red paint. LOL The kids painted their pumpkins (and lips) while daddy carved our other pumpkins.

Wild and Wooly Layout

 A double page layout today....you guessed it from the Ohio State Fair 2008! LOL

My pictures today are from the petting zoo area. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals. Hunter was a little leery letting the camel eat from his hand but Hailey had no reservations! :-)

 I love the tenderness Hunter is showing while petting the sheep. So sweet! 

I used the Country Life Cricut cartridge again for my die cuts.

 I have a little confession- the whole time I was working on this layout I was thinking that these were llamas. Once I finished my layout and looked at it yet again I realized these guys are camels!! LOL

The middle picture was popped up on pop dots.(I like doing this when it is a tight squeeze fitting my pictures into my space. This way I can slightly overlap my pictures and I don't have to trim them. It looks nice too.)

I love the sheep die cut on this page- it reminds me of the primitive sheep that I think are so cute!

I wonder what Hailey is thinking, and I wonder what the goat is thinking. :-)  I guess we will never know! LOL

Pigeon Roost Farm

 In October we spent a couple of days enjoying the beautiful fall weather. The first day we visited a couple of Metro parks and then the second day we set off to find a couple of pumpkins. My double layout is from the visit to Pigeon Roost Farm. It is fun place to take little ones (and big ones too!) to spend the day. We saw lots of animals (they even have a camel) went through the corn maze, played in the woods, the gerbil wheels (kids get in huge drainage tubes and run around moving them around), there is  just a lot of hands on things to see and do. Then we finished up our visit by picking a couple of pumpkins.
 

I used the American Craft Campy Trails collection, I am loving the versatility of the retro colors and patterns, and using them for various themes. :-) (Don't forget you can enlarge the photo by clicking on it.)

Times to remember

This double page layout features photos taken last fall at a local Metro Park here in Columbus. The park is an actual  working historical farm from about 1880. Everything is very hands on for the kiddos. We love spending time there!! (It is a nice place to play in the newly fallen leaves -because our lonely Birch tree does not produce enough leaves!! LOL But hey, we don't have to worry about raking the yard. LOL)

I like all of the various designer papers, the sheer flowers (color was added to them with a Copic marker, as well as the gem embellies) the inked edges, the custom gems, but most of all those adorable kids of mine!!;-)

I am blessed beyond measure!!
