Mini

Ack!! Have you ever started a project (could be any kind of project) and it ended up being way more time consuming that you had planned? Well, I am up to my eyeballs in one of those right now (well, 2 if you count cleaning my studio!! LOL) I am making a little album. Usually the little ones I can crank out pretty fast, but not this one.

This is still a work in progress.... but I couldn't wait to share , so here it is. LOL Now, maybe I will hurry to get it done so I can share the completed album. This one is not only gonna be cute, but also be something I can use daily.

Until later~

Little changes

Ahhh, I finally got some cards made. It seems like it has been forever since I had work night. And even longer since I had work night where I got to work on my own stuff. LOL I recently got some new rubber, and to be honest with you, it felt sooo good to ink those babies up!!

Here is what I have to share today:

I wanted to show you how to take a basic layout and by making minor changes you can change the whole look of the card.

This was my first card. Stamped image, colored with markers, matted, and pop dotted. The edge of the card front was embossed using the Scor-pal, a little ribbon was was tied with a east/west knot and a sentiment was stamped to the card front.

(Gallon= white, quart=pink, pint= black)

Pretty much the same exact card- except here I used the black and white ribbon. And I added some green to the stems. (Gallon=white, quart=black, pint= pink)

So here is the same layout- but changed up a little more. Same stamp, matted and placed in the same location. But, this time I knotted (no ribbon tails this time) the wider ribbon, changed the sentiment and left the edge plain. (Gallon=white, quart=red, pint=black)

Randomness-

*thanks for all the Birthday wishes for Hailey, she had a wonderful birthday

* I am hooked on watching Youtube "haul" videos (if you don't know what I am talking about- go to youtube and search for "scrapbooking haul" )

* the friend that had his foot amputated 2 weeks ago is doing much better

* a young lady (34 ) at church just found out she has stage 3 cancer.

*I did use my photo tent for today's photos

* it is a dreary, rainy day

* looking forward to having dinner guest tomorrow

*the garden is producing more than I ever imagined!!

*the stamp used is Sprigs by TAC

Thanks for stopping by!!

Everything is blooming

First things first- sorry for the shadows. (I really need to get my photo tent back out and USE it. LOL)
I use different starting points for my "creativity". This card just so happened to start with that yummy ribbon. Then I had to come up with some cardstock to coordinate. (The only art classes I have taken were those in grade school- so I try to pick up pointers along the way. One of those "rules" was gallon, quart and pint.) Finding my "quart" was almost as easy as the "gallon" and then came time to choose a "pint"- I had several I thought would work- but opted for the "pop" of the black cardstock. Loving this color combo!
Of course the image was colored with the Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I swear if you took away those pencils it would be like asking me to work without my right arm!!
Details-
Stamps- Everything is blooming, Swirly gigs, and Trendy greetings
Ink- Cote D'Azure and Noir - which is perfect for using with the Prismacolor pencils and OMS.
Misc- 6x6 Brights Stack, border punch, Prismacolor Pencils, Oms, pop dots and ribbon

I probably will not be back until next week. My baby turns 3 on Sunday!! Monday daddy took the day off and we are headed to Build a Bear. I know the kiddos will have a good time creating their own bears. I can not wait to see what they choose!!

Oh, I almost forgot- Hailey had a check up with her Asthma DR yesterday. She is doing great!! It was decided that she can stop the Singulair. Please keep her in your prayers that she adjusts well to not taking that medicine.

Love

Another random card. Yesterday I went in the studio with every intention of cleaning- but, before I knew what hit me I was dragging out my Big Shot and well.......I stopped in Michael's a few days ago to pick up a Sizzix font. I ended up buying Endless Love, it is different than any font I have and I think it is so pretty. Can you believe I paid $9.97?!?!?! These babies had been selling for $149.99!! Oh yea, bargain!!
Well, I love the black and white, truly elegant. The cards looks good- BUT, you can not see in this picture what really makes the card so beautiful.

See, the embossing? The Scor-pal is THE best when it comes to scoring. Because I did not have to move my card, I was able to score one side at a time around my letters. Love it!! Oh, I can see me making more of this one-maybe change up the colors and use it for Weddings, Anniversaries, and just general cards. So fun.

Pretty in Pink

This card started out as a base to yesterday's Onesie card- but as you can see once the ribbon was added there was not enough room for my die-cut. LOL I just so happen to like the ribbon, so I made another base, and left this one as is. I will add a stamped sentiment to the bottom- as soon as I decide who to send it to.

The swirls are double inked. I used the lightest color first and then lightly and randomly tapped my inked stamp with the darker color ink. For this one I just highlighted the edges, but you could use this technique anywhere on you stamp to add more detail.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello Baby take 2....

I told you yesterday I have fallen in love with Hello baby all over again!! Today I have used the giraffe on a die cut. How cute is that little onesie???!!! See, you can stamp on just about anything! LOL
Supplies- Stamps- Curls and swirls and Hello Baby
Ink- Toile Pink Palette and Boudoir Blush Palette and Noir Palette
Card Stock- Bazzill
Die cut- the Cricut and New Arrival cartridge
Misc- Prismacolor Pencils, OMS, pop dots, ribbon, embossing folder, Tombow markers and Dew drops
Little details-*Die cut was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, a Tombow marker was used to shade the edges of the die cut- perfect for getting in those tight little spaces, then pop dotted
*Bazzill cardstock was run through the Big Shot with the Swiss dot embossing folder and then inked with a stiff brush- love the softness
*ends of ribbon were inked
*Swirls were inked first with the lighter color than randomly touched with the darker color before being stamped onto the cardstock (Love this technique!)
*2 corners were rounded
*Yummy dew drops- (I always use mini glue dots to adhere them)

Baby Card.

Why a baby card- well, why not? LOL I can't think of anyone I know that is expecting, but looking through the new The Angel Company catalogue I fell in love with this stamp set all over again. This little giraffe is just precious!!

I colored the giraffe (from Hello Baby) with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. The diaper and blanket were paper pieced. All of the papers are from a vintage collection I fell in love with. (It reminds me of my granny's chenille bedspread from back in the day. ) Very quick and easy card, perfect for mass production.

Last week was VBS- we had 305 kids on Wednesday- our high day. Twenty-five kids made professions of Faith during the week, and that is what it is all about!! My kids really enjoyed it, and so did I. Yesterday was our VBS wrap up day and Family Fun day. What a blast!! Literally, the firemen where there with the big hoses. LOL Also the zoo brought 6 animals, and yes they brought a HUGE snake. (When I say huge, well, it was longer than the 8 foot table it was laying on- so I heard. LOL) It was almost 5:30 when we finally got home last night. We all slept very well last night.

Hopefully I will have more to share this week. I hope to be in the studio a little this week. Who knows, maybe I will get it straightened up while I am back there. =)

Hello

Just passing through with a quick,"Hello." We are right in the middle of VBS. Today we had 295 kids, 295 kids, can you believe it? We are learning about Peter and some missionaries, crafting, eating cookies and drinking juice, singing and PRAISING up a storm. One little guy (age 5) was so cute this morning, he thanked me for having him in VBS!! How sweet is that?
If you don't believe me that VBS is hard work- just ask my kiddos. LOL

I have several prayer requests-
* Safe arrive for a friends hubby- he will arrive home around 11:30 tonight. He is on a 2 week leave before heading back overseas*
* My uncle was involved in a freak accident, a railroad rail fell on both of his feet. Nothing is broken, but everything is mangled. He developed blood clots and the meds messed up his blood*
*My aunt goes back for a follow up to be checked after having a kidney removed in October because of cancer*
*Another friend's husband was severely burned when a propane tank exploded on him.*
*Another friend went to the hospital Sunday with what they thought was a heart attack- well it wasn't that. He had infection in his foot and they had to amputate it yesterday morning.*
*Mom is still in kidney failure. Also she is showing some signs of depression.*

Petal pack

More Girlie Goodies. Remember the tote I stamped a couple of weeks ago? Here are the coordinating bookmarks and embellies I made for the front of my journal.

I am loving the orange and pink color combo.

Hopefully after Vacation Bible School next week there with be more crafting going on here. LOL

My garden

I really look forward each year to fresh, garden grown veggies. This is the first year since we have been married that we have had a garden. Hubby built me 4 four by four foot raised beds for Mother's Day. It has been fun watching everything grow. Today we got our first harvest!!Yummy squash.... hubby is preparing them now to roast for dinner. I can hardly wait!! The tomatoes will be ripe soon- I love tomatoes, I craved them so bad when I carried both kiddos!! Enjoy your evening (or morning- whichever the case may be.)

We're Home

Wow, I can not believe how fast the weekend flew right by!! Friday we drove to Horsham, PA. Mapquest said 7 hours 44 mins- obviously someone does not have little ones!!! LOL It took us 11.5 hours. We made a couple of stops, but by the end of the drive Hunter and Hailey were bushed.
Saturday we spent the day at Valley Forge. DH and I loved it. The kids loved the "Once upon a Nation" story stops. You could almost feel the "history" in the air.

Washington's Headquarters. Walking up the stairs to the second floor I was sure to use the handrail- it is original to the house, and I am sure George Washington had used it. LOL
"Look at the deer, Hailey."
"I wanna pet him Momma."
"You can not pet him, he is wild."
"No Momma, he is not wild, he's tute."
The Liberty Bell. Yep, it's still cracked. LOL We visited Philly on Sunday. I had my first 'real' Philly Steak sandwich- YUM!! Can you believe that was on my Life List? LOL We did a lot of walking and looking. Hunter was sooo cute, "Mommy, may I join the Army pwease?" Yes I let him sign up for the Continental Army. So cute. The kids were given little wooden muskets and put through a mini drill. He had a blast. (Hailey deserted after a minute. LOL)
Monday Morning- Breakfast with Elmo.We also got to meet Bert, Ernie, Zoe and Big Bird. (Hailey hid under the table a couple of times. She was not impressed with the characters.) We did almost all the rides and lots of fun. Tuesday was back to Sesame Place. We did all wet rides on Tuesday. I asked for a Lazy River in our back yard. LOL

Wednesday- we headed home. BUT, we had a pit stop in Hagerstown, MD. Oh yea, Offray Ribbon Outlet. All this ribbon cost ONLY......... are you ready for this?........$12.33. Six huge rolls and all those bags...... YUMMY!!

The kids did really well on the long drive home, but they were very excited when they started to recognize places close to home.

We are thankful for time away, a safe trip, and new adventures/memories.

(Oh, I stopped in my first AC Moore's too- very nice.)
